These resources were created by members of the ODPH Public Health Advisory for Dietetic Education and Training working group to ensure dietetic students are better prepared to understand public health in general and public health nutrition specifically.  The two resources (pdf manual and ppt slide deck) provide a comprehensive overview of the public health system; defining public health and an overview of the public health standards; health equity, health promotion, and advocacy; the process of policy and program development in the public health nutrition context; and relevant resources. In addition, case studies relevant to public health practice and aligned with the ICDEP competencies are provided.

These manuals were released in June 2023 and are being piloted until June 2024.  Members are encouraged to share materials with practicum students and collect any feedback on the google doc linked below.
